Common Core in the Districts: An Early Look at Early Implementers

This report, written in partnership with the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, provides a close look at how four pioneering districts are striving to put the Common Core into practice in their central offices, schools and classrooms. It focuses on how districts have aligned core components of their operations with the Common Core, including curricular materials, professional development, leadership, communications, accountability and assessments.

This research was made possible through the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Louis Calder Foundation and the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation. Participating districts include Illinois’s District 54, The Kenton County School District, Metro Nashville Public Schools and Washoe County School District.
