For Education First, Kristen managed a six-month project with the Puerto Rico Department of Education to design and implement a professional development plan for the island’s 28,000 teachers. Prior to her time in Puerto Rico, she served as the Chief Talent Officer for the New Jersey Department of Education. In that role she was focused on attracting, developing and retaining exceptional educators in New Jersey’s nearly 600 school districts. Kristen has also served as the Director of Talent for Scholar Academies, an organization that managed schools in Philadelphia, Trenton and Washington, D.C; and as a consultant within Deloitte’s human-capital practice. She started her career as a secondary mathematics teacher in Philadelphia, and has a BS in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University, and a MS in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
