Matt Bachand
Senior Consultant

Matt supports local and philanthropic partners implementing large-scale change initiatives that support innovative teacher, school, and district redesign efforts. Foundations, district leadership, and enterprising school leaders and teachers are his focus.

An Air Force brat and first generation college student, Matt is deeply committed to providing all students with the skills and tools to choose exciting, fulfilling postsecondary opportunities for which they are well prepared and which will offer them enviable life choices. Prior to joining Education First, Matt served as a district official leading large-scale organizational reform and redesign, consulted on district turnaround strategy and implementation, and taught secondary English in Baltimore, MD and New Haven, CT.

Matt spends his off hours seeking the quiet adventures of mountains and rivers, enjoying the bustle of city restaurants and festivals, and exploring the many hidden treasures of small towns and cities of the east coast and around every National Park and Forest he can. But it all shuts down in March for the NCAA basketball tournament, in which he roots for the Kansas Jayhawks and Syracuse Orange.
