Yeonjae Lee provides strategic thought partnership to a wide range of clients including foundations, nonprofits and state and local education agencies. As an expert in content such as social-emotional learning and effective cross-sector partnerships as well as process such as equitable design and project management, they successfully lead project teams in supporting clients to build coherent strategies and ensure equitable outcomes for students.
Yeonjae’s own educational experiences as a 1.5 generation Korean-American immigrant as well as having taught in multiple schools across the country serve to motivate their desire to transform systems and ensure all students, particularly those farthest from opportunity, can have equal access to high quality education. At Education First, they combine their own past experiences in the education system with their prior consulting experience in the field of public health to champion social justice.
Yeonjae holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an Ed.M in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. They currently reside in Brooklyn, New York and enjoy travelling, spending time with friends and giving treats to their adorable dog.
