Education First worked with the Rodel Foundation to understand the schools, programs and organizations supporting SEL for Delaware public school students. We identified in-school programs focused on developing students’ SEL skills in Delaware Public Schools; analyzed how these programs are integrated into students’ learning; identified opportunities to strengthen those programs; and advised on priorities for philanthropic investment and state policy. We also examined gaps in service, and opportunities for improvement and growth of existing services, with the ultimate goal of informing state policy and district-level implementation and growth. This research project for the Rodel Foundation resulted in recommendations in a public report to advance equity-focused social and emotional learning policy and practice.
