We collaborated with a group of award-winning Oregon teachers and The Chalkboard Project to identify steps for supporting and strengthening teaching in the state. We found that high-impact strategies include new leadership pathways and compensation plans, better evaluations of teacher performance, rigorous, classroom-based student teaching experiences, and high-quality mentoring.
The recommendations are based on our review of research from across Oregon, the nation and the world about effective reforms designed to support teachers and strengthen the teaching profession.
