In this report, we examine the readiness of all 50 states and the District of Columbia in three areas related to Common Core State Standards (CCSS): teacher professional development, curriculum guides, and teacher-evaluation systems. We surveyed 47 state education agency (SEA) representatives in 2012 and found that all states reported progress on their implementation plan since we last surveyed them in 2011, and that the majority were furthest along in their plans for teacher professional development.
This study serves as a follow-up to our January 2012 Preparing for Change report, which detailed state-reported survey responses about the status of CCSS implementation planning in 2011.
